Turning Hardship Into Success

Life Resource Services of Jackson County was established on December 19, 2016.

Founder, Josh Sherlin went through many hardships to turn his experiences into something beneficial to the community. From growing up in the foster care system and being separated from his seven siblings, Josh ended up in Scottsboro, Alabama with foster parents Russell and Missy Tolleson. The Tollesons were the ones that instilled the act of giving back.

After working with Room in the Inn, he saw a need for a place for the homeless to go during the day. “If there was not somewhere they could go to get them out of their situation they’re in now, then nothing will change. This gives them an opportunity to pretty much come in and change their life.”

While sitting down with our clients, we evaluate their current needs and meet them where they are. From mental health resources to workforce and financial resources to stable housing, we can assist with completing applications and even setting up necessary appointments for our clients.
