Our Mission
The mission of Life Resource Services of Jackson County is to help those struggling with homelessness, less fortunate families, and the underserved in our community by providing resources to help rebuild their lives.
About our organization
Life Resource Services of Jackson County is a Non-profit 501(c)3 Organization that has a vision to provide a warm & cool and safe place during the daytime hours, as well as help people gain access to permanent housing. We would like to build alliances with affordable housing providers and other organizations that serve homeless individuals and their families.
Life Resource Services of Jackson County will link individuals to emergency resources and assist individuals to obtain and maintain adequate financial income through job placement, continuing education or other benefits they may be entitled to.
Data That
Tells a Story
In 2024 Life Resource Services of Jackson County was awarded a $126,900 grant through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Life Resource Services partnered with Alabama Rural Coalition for the Homeless (ARCH) to implement the Rapid Rehousing Program for residents of Jackson County.
Over a period of 18 months qualified individuals and families were assisted with emergency shelter, and a pathway to permanent housing. A Case Manager followed up with each client to ensure success in their placement.
As of January 2026, it has been reported that 63.6% of those who obtained housing have remained in those placements. This program was a success for the unhoused and vulnerable residents of Jackson County. Thanks to this generous grant LRS was able to help improve conditions for individuals and families who qualified. The Rapid Rehousing Program funds have been exhausted in this effort to better Jackson County residents.
